What conditions DO qualify for the Maine Medical Marijuana Program?
The following conditions will qualify a patient for medical marijuana:
- Cancer
- Glaucoma
- Positive Status Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
- Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
- Hepatitis C
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
- Crohn’s Disease
- Agitation of Alzheimer’s disease
- Nail-patella syndrome
- Intractable Pain, a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that has not responded to ordinary medical or
- surgical measures for more than 6 months
- Chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition or its treatment that produces one or more of the following symptoms:
- Cachexia or wasting syndrome
- Severe nausea
- Seizures, including but not limited to those characteristics of epilepsy
- Severe or persistent muscle spasms, including but not limited to those characteristics of multiple sclerosis
